Disappointed by the PD that has been inspiring, Michele Salvati said the reforms: "Other than new party. Unfortunately, we must acknowledge that the Democratic Party is a political entity of the first Republic (magari!), the sum of two ancient cultures that do not have a clue how to change society. " And the young men of that party are already "old." Michael is an educated man and disinterested and frankly can not understand why he thought the Democratic Party, as it is born, could have a bright destiny. Modestly, in my pamphlet at the terminus, published when that party was born, I predicted the outcome of which he speaks now saved. And not because I'm smarter than him, but because my analysis does abstract from a scheme, from what the need was felt to the center, but an analysis of reality, what were the DS and the Margherita when you put together, not always, I said, what we believe is necessary is also possible. And then you wonder of setbacks, that the PD is not seen as an alternative?
Dear Emanuele, may well be that you were deceived and I am a realist (although you had your illusions of turning the former Communist Party of figiciotti in a modern social democratic party). Now the PD is a fact accomplished and organized is the only thing (so to speak) that remains in the reformist camp. What do we want it? With affection and esteem intact.

Ma da qui dovrebbe partire tutto un altro discorso della sinistra che ritrovi nel lavoro e nella difesa dei ceti popolari le ragioni per riproporre su scala nazionale ed europea un’altra dinamica dello sviluppo. Non è un discorso facile. Sono temi che non siamo più abituati ad affrontare,vuoi che parliamo di politica della domanda,vuoi che parliamo di leve pubbliche di governo dello sviluppo. Sono questioni che puzzano di socialismo,di interventismo pubblico,di sindacati e di alleanze sociali mirate.
